Why Women+
Why Women?
-
Failures and gaps in contraception most often fall on the people that get pregnant.
-
There are female specific health needs, especially in contraceptive research.
-
Women's health has often received insufficient attention. It still receives relatively low research and innovation funding.
-
Until 1986 clinical trials typically did not include women.
Why "+" ?
-
We all benefit from more contraceptive choices and we are allies in the endeavor to broaden options.
-
Binary definitions of gender and sexuality can be exclusive.
-
We will focus on female-controlled contraceptive methods with a commitment to non-binary, transgender, and sexual partners who might benefit from better contraceptive methods.
